The Columbia Slough is an inland river estuary on the Lower Columbia River, in Oregon. It is an oasis of  life nestled in urban surroundings, providing habitat for many varied forms of birds, fish and wildlife.
         Historically, this waterway has been abused. A place where city runoff has accrued and other contaminants have  accumulated, thus threatening  this inner city prize. But, as of late, efforts are under way to help begin to clean up and restore this precious ecosystem.
