... lies on the North end of Portland, Oregon. It is a naturally occurring body of water in what used to be a flood plain. Nestled in amongst industry and residential dwellings, it had suffered years of neglect and abuse.

For the past several decades there have been put in to action many plans and agencies designated to protecting this estuary. The community has also been called to begin playing it's role in protecting the Slough.
